Fall is quickly approaching even though it doesn’t quite feel like it here in Alabama…but my brain (and calendar) is already preparing for Fall Mini Sessions! Whether it’s for updated Family portraits, to send out Christmas cards, or just taking advantage of the cooler weather, October and November is one of the best times to hold a session.

I’m taking a limited number of full family sessions, but I have a selection of mini-sessions taking place at my most popular locations throughout October and Early November. If you’re planning on using your images for Christmas cards, I recommend one of these dates so that you can receive your photographs in time to order and get out your cards soon after Thanksgiving.

Here are a list of dates and locations for sessions in October & November, click on the locations for detailed information on sessions, time slots, and booking your session:

Take a look at some examples from each of these locations here! If you have any questions…see my FAQ section below (scroll down)

I can’t wait to work with you and your family!!

What's included in the session I purchased?

Your session includes 20 minutes of shooting time, editing of your session gallery, and 5 web-ready images

I’m trying to get outfits together for my family, what do you recommend? Where do I start?

-For colors, look around your home, what colors does your family gravitate towards with decor? My goal is for your family to use these images in your home, so wearing colors that compliment your home and you're comfortable with will ensure you'll enjoy them for years to come.
-Keep in mind the background of your session location, if you’re using a location with a lot of trees in the Fall, try not to put everyone in brown…you don’t want to blend into the background.
-Remember that it looks best if your family is complimentary, not necessarily matchy matchy. I usually recommend parents start from the kids, making them the ones that wear a majority of the color/patterns. Pick about 2 colors that you’ll use throughout your family’s outfits.
If you still need some inspiration, Pinterest is a great place for family outfits

Should I bring anything with me?

Yes--bring snacks, loveys, toys for the little ones…things that you know will make them happy. You know the magical powers of a fruit snack or goldfish!!

What will you be concentrating on during my session?

During mini sessions, I specifically concentrate on making sure we get a couple really good full family shots! I want you to have that awesome family picture for your home and your Christmas card, especially if this is the only time of the year you have family pictures taken. If we still have time, I will try to get individual photographs of the children. (If you are wanting a more thorough session with more combinations and multiple scenes, I’d recommend booking a Signature Session)

I can’t wait…when will I get to see my images for the first time?

This is the best part! Two weeks after your session we will meet in my studio and this is when you will see your full gallery for the first time, this will include about 20 images. I will help you through the process of selecting your favorite images, choose those that were included in your session fee, and (if you wish) place an order for your fine art products.

Yay, I get 5 images included in my session! Can I purchase more if I want?

Absolutely! You can do this at your Reveal and Ordering session following your session

What does ‘web-ready’ mean?

Web ready means that the files are sized to be shared online…feel free to share these images on your social media or send them to your family via email. I do kindly ask that you tag me and/or mention my page in your social media posts, I rely solely on word-of-mouth, so mentioning me would be a big help…plus, I love seeing all your loved one’s comments. You are also able to print these files up to a 5x7, so this size is perfect for Christmas cards!

How will I receive my digital images?

About a week following our Reveal and Ordering session, I will send you a link to an online gallery where you will download your digital files.

Using my web-ready files I plan on ordering Christmas cards, do you have any recommended online labs that I use?

I recommend to my families to use Minted and Mpix! I’ve been referring my clients to them for years and have always heard great things.
